What online sticky notes are for
A sticky note holds one thought, and that is the point: small enough to write in seconds, easy to move, easy to put next to another. Online sticky notes keep that, and add what paper cannot — a wall everyone can reach, notes anyone can read, and a record that does not fall off overnight.
How sticky notes work here
- Add one anywhere. Double-click the board, or pick the sticky tool. The text sizes itself to fill the note, so a short note reads from across the room.
- Colour means something. Choose a colour per theme or per person. A template's legend says what each colour is for, so the whole team writes in the same language.
- Stacks, like a pad. A stack is a pad of identical notes: drag it and a fresh copy peels off in the right colour and shape.
- Frames group them. Drop a note over a frame and it belongs to that frame. The frame's title counts the notes inside and moves them when it moves.
- Connect them. Draw a connector from one note to another to show what leads to what.
- Vote on them. Start dwell voting and each note shows its count, with the leader outlined.
How to run a brainstorm with online sticky notes
- Ask one question. Put it on the board where everyone can see it.
- Write in silence. Start a five-minute timer and let everyone add their own notes, one idea each.
- Group. Read the notes out and drag similar ones together; draw a frame round each group and name it.
- Vote. Let the team vote on what to take further, and write down the winners before the vote ends.
Online sticky notes FAQs
Can several people add sticky notes at the same time?
Yes. Everyone with an editor link writes on the same board in real time, and each person's cursor shows with their name.
Do people need an account to add notes?
No. Guests open the board from a link and pick a name.
Can I export my sticky notes?
Export the board as SVG, PNG or PDF to share a picture of it, or as an OCIF file to keep the notes themselves in an open format.
